POSITION:         Receptionist

REPORTS TO:   Office Manager

SUMMARY:

HBI’s receptionist is a frontline position responsible in monitoring incoming phone calls and assisting patients and visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Two years prior experience in a clinic or hospital environment (preferred)
  • Working knowledge and experience with health insurance plans
  • Experience with word processing software
  • Experience and knowledge of managed care health insurance programs
  • Experience and knowledge of Medical Manager program (preferred)
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer incoming phone calls and taking messages for clinicians
  • Assist patients with their office visits, i.e. check-in/check-out, collecting co-pays, providing forms to fill-out
  • Verify eligibility from electronic roster and/or telephonically
  • Schedule patient appointments with HBI clinicians
  • Follow HBI’s policies and procedures
  • Report to the Office Manager issues that are critical to patient care, i.e., suicidal and homicidal behavior and other red flags
  • Print daily patient reports
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
