Career and Training

In order to serve a culturally-diverse community, HBI employs highly qualified multi-cultural mental health professionals, clinicians, and administrative support staff. Many can communicate in Spanish, which is the largest foreign language requirement among our clients. As a member of the National Health Service Corps (NHSC), HBI is committed to recruiting and retaining the most talented and dedicated individuals to join our team. We do this by creating a stable work environment with huge growth potential. It is our policy to promote from within whenever possible; therefore, if you desire to cultivate a solid career in the mental health care industry, then HBI is the ideal place to be.

We offer competitive wages and for eligible full-time employees – comprehensive benefits, including:

  • medical, dental and vision insurance
  • employer-matched retirement account
  • merit increases and bonuses
  • paid sick leaves (or “mental health” days)
  • paid vacation days
  • paid holidays

In addition, HBI Licensed Clinicians may qualify for assistance in their repayment of outstanding qualifying educational loans through the NHSC Loan Repayment Program (LRP)*

The NHSC LRP is administered by the Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW) in the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The NHSC LRP seeks primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, certified nurse ‐midwives, physician assistants, dentists, dental hygienists, and behavioral and mental health providers (health service psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychiatric nurse specialists, and licensed professional counselors) to provide culturally competent, interdisciplinary primary health care services to underserved populations located in selected Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs).

Human Behavior Institute (HBI) is located in a selected HPSA for Mental Health services. In return, the NHSC LRP assists clinicians in their repayment of outstanding qualifying educational loans. NHSC Loan Repayment funds are exempt from Federal income and employment taxes. These funds are not included as wages when determining benefits under the Social Security Act.

For questions about the NHSC LRP, please call 1‐800‐221‐9393 (TTY: 1‐877‐897‐9910), or email GetHelp@hrsa.gov, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays) 8:00 am to 8:00 pm EST.

EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

HBI is committed to a policy of equal opportunity for all applicants and employees. We recognize each person as an individual, and will not tolerate any form of discrimination based on race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, genetic information, national origin or disability. Equal opportunities extend to all persons in all aspects of the employer-employee relationship.

COMPLIANCE WITH AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) AND AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES AMENDMENTS ACT (ADAAA)

HBI will not discriminate on the basis of disability against a qualified individual with a disability in regard to any term, condition or privilege of employment. It is further understood that this company intends to make every reasonable effort to accommodate employees and applicants with known physical or mental limitations — assuming that the person is able to perform the essential aspects of the position — unless doing so causes a direct threat to these individuals or others in the workplace and the threat cannot be eliminated by reasonable accommodation and/or if the accommodation would impose an undue hardship on the operation of this business.

RIGHT TO WORK

Nevada is a right to work state. This means that an employee is not required to join a union or pay dues or initiation fees to get and hold a job with our company, even if that job were to be covered by a collective bargaining agreement. HBI jobs are not covered by such agreements. It is our belief and philosophy that labor unions are irrelevant to the success of our employee relations.

HBI is fully committed to its most important resource — its employees. Management is well aware that its success is the result of competent, dedicated and professional employees who perform their job responsibilities and duties in a consistent sustained manner. As a result, the Company is dedicated to:

Providing employees with competitive wage/benefits and working conditions;
Creating a positive and pleasant environment in which to perform their work;
Treating each individual with care, dignity, fairness, respect and recognition.

Because of our strong commitment to our employees, we firmly believe that HBI supervisors can serve as our employee’s best representative in dealing with employment matters or department problems.

As in all companies, issues may arise which will affect some HBI employees from time to time. However, we believe that these issues can be raised, discussed and resolved through open and honest dialogue between management and the affected employees. We are committed to keep the door open to you.
